Today ended up being an extremely relaxing day off. James and I went to the pool for a while and then spent the rest of the day running errands and hanging out around the apartment. We have almost all of the large decisions for the wedding made and should set everything in stone this week.
Officiant: Instead of going to the courthouse, we decided to look for officiants in the Raleigh area. Fortunately, we stumbled upon a pastor named Kaylelilly who is able to accomodate exactly what we want (very small, private wedding on a Friday afternoon). James and I went to her house last week to meet her and see her 'wedding garden'. We were both happy with her and the location, so we're sending out the contract this week!
Limo: We will have a limo from 3pm-3am to shuttle us wherever we want. Rumor has it, they roll out a red carpet wherever you go. One of our favorite sayings applies to this, "Treat yo' self"!
Photographer: A few Saturdays ago we spent the day wedding planning. As most of you know, wedding planning isn't exactly fun or relaxing, so we ended the day at a local brewery, Lonerider. While we were enjoying our delicious cervesas, and strangley having our most productive planning session, we happened to meet a photographer taking pictures of a newly engaged couple. We checked out her work online and immediately knew she was the one we wanted. You can check her stuff out at www.theindieimage.com. We haven't booked her officially, but will be doing so this week.
Dinner: We haven't decided where we're going yet, but have a few places in mind. Hopefully, we'll get a chance to check them out in person to make sure the venue can accommodate our family.
For now, I think that about does it! I only have 7 1/2 days left with my students, and they're off to 7th grade. It will be bitter sweet as always...but right now it seems pretty sweet.
